DANIELLA vollinger

Daniella has worked in marketing and communications for the past fifteen years and has agency and in-house experience within: tech/software, institutional asset management, retail finance, cosmetics, fashion, independent schools and colleges.

Writing has always been where Daniella shines, and no project is too dull. She’s more than happy to nerd out on endless research for a particular writing assignment, whether its on accounting rule changes or quantitative investing. Along with Karen, Daniella proofreads all Grier Park work before final release to clients. She also takes on marketing projects from time to time.

Daniella graduated from Skidmore College with a B.A. in English Literature and Graphic Design. She is married to her college sweetheart and they live on the campus of Deerfield Academy in western Massachusetts with their three sons.

Proudest moment: When her four-year-old son corrected his grandmother who incorrectly used “who” instead of “whom” in a sentence.

Pet peeve: When she hears people using “myself” incorrectly.

SARA Daniels Brown

A storyteller by nature and training, Sara draws from her deep experience in the non-profit marketing and publishing fields to write impactful pieces. Sara began her career at a literary agency in New York City before entering communications within the non-profit space.

During her tenure at Sinai Health Foundation in Toronto, Sara managed a growing multichannel content-marketing portfolio, the centerpiece of which was the biannual Sinai Health Magazine. As founding Editor-in-Chief, Sara led every aspect of production from concept to strategy and budget creation; to project management; to stakeholder relations; to print production and distribution. Sara is currently a writer at McGill University. She has worked as a communications consultant for the past fifteen years and loves to take on new projects that align with her values.

Sara is a graduate of Skidmore College with a B.A. in English and has her MFA in Creative Writing from University of Wyoming. She lives in Montreal with her husband and two children.

Proudest moment: When her favorite professor, a brilliant writer, loved her work.

Pet peeve: When people don’t put the correct number of elipses.

KAREN Kelly-Brown

Karen proofreads all projects before final release. She has proofread countless articles, as well as novels and cookbooks, marketing communications, legal documents, insurance documents, and more. 

She is a graduate of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York. She received her Masters in Anthropology from Columbia University and was a candidate within Columbia University’s Anthropology doctoral program.

Proudest moment: When she proofread her first novel.

Pet peeve: Using “different than” instead of “different from” because, let’s face it, “different than” is just wrong.
